Once you have created the segment that you want to target, there may be a population that you want to exclude from receiving the campaign. To exclude visitors from receiving a campaign, simply click on the "advanced option" link and that will expose the Exclude Visitors section. Click on the "Add Profile" button and then select "Create New Profile." If the profile/segment that you want to exclude has already been created, you can select it by choosing Add From Library, Quick Add or Last Modified.
The exclude section is highlighted in the screenshot below:
The following are a few examples of some commonly used profiles to exclude visitors from a campaign.
Exclude via IP Address
1. Drag and drop the Demographic Filter Profile into the table
2. Select IP. Paste IP Address that you want to exclude into the field. Configuration example in screenshot below.
Excluding via Metro Code
1. Drag and drop the Demographic Profile Filter into the table
2. Select Metro Code. You will need to use the three-letter code. For example, the code for Atlanta would be ATL. Configuration example in screenshot below.
Exclude via Referrer (Where visitor came from)
1. Drag and drop the Site Activity Profile into the table
2. Select Referrer. In the text boxes, you will use the wildcard, which is signified by a "*". For example, the screenshot below is excluding visitors that came from either Google or Bing. The search term, *google* means that if the user came from a link that has the word "google" in it, that would trigger a match excluding users that came from Google. The same process is taken to exclude visitors coming from, Bing, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, etc. Configuration example in screenshot below.
You can exclude campaign based on delivery of other campaign. By drag & dropping the Campaign(History) Profile you can see following options for filtering visitors. In this you can chose visitors delivered campaign for exclusion.
Exclude via Campaign Delivery
1. Drag and drop the Campaign Delivery (Historic) Profile into the table
2. Select Delivered Campaign. You will be presented with a dropdown where you select the particular Rekko campaign. For example, the code for Atlanta would be ATL. Configuration example in screenshot below.
Keep in mind that we have merely listed a handful of profile options that we see used often. Any profile you create can be used to exclude a visitor segment from qualifying for your campaign.
If you have a ecommerce website that sells products, it's very likely you have a shopping cart system. That shopping cart system utilizes a database of products, also known as a product catalogue, with fields like item name, manufacturer, SKU, product image URL, etc. By sharing your product catalogue into Rekko and implementing product tagging on your website, you're able to access a number of exciting features that specifically take advantage of products and the activities around how visitors see, interact with and purchase them.
Here are just a few of the areas in Rekko that are enriched and utilize the product catalogue:
• Timeline, Rekko's dashboard and site activity feed shows will display actual shopping cart data (items, prices, product images, etc.) as customers checkout or abandon a shopping cart; all in real-time.
• Recommendations utilize a product catalogue to associate products as visitors view items, add them to their carts and checkout. By combining behavioral and shopping data with a database of products, Rekko can calculate similarity and use other algorithms to dynamically deliver grids on the website and through email of items that visitors might be interested in. • Top Sellers also utilize the product catalogue similarly to Recommendation campaigns, but within the scope of creating dynamic grids of products based upon the frequency at which they're purchased. [insert link to stub article for different recommendation algorithms]
• Analytics and Reporting.
More info on the specific format for the comma delimited (CSV) file and how to share and update it with Rekko can be found in this knowledgebase article.
If you're using Magento, there's a plug-in that completely automates the integration of Rekko with your Magento product catalogue. Please contact us for more info on it! |
Capture has a number of delivery options that are available that allow you to specify the following:
• Which page(s) the Capture form will be delivered on...
• Page(s) you'd like to exclude Capture from being delivered on, whether they've visited the page in the current session or in a historical session
• Deliver when a visitor has been on a page or the site for n seconds.
• Delivery options for subsequent sessions for that visitor if they don't complete the Capture form.
Note: the "Exclude visitors that have visited a URL that contains" option will exclude visitors that have visited a page or are CURRENTLY ON that page.
Using a wildcard, it's useful to exclude visitors that clicked through on a particular Adwords or email marketing campaign, for instance: *?utm-code=camefromMailchimpCampaign* would not deliver the Capture form to anyone that clicked through on a link that had that code as part of the click-through URL.
The URLs are all contains operations. However, if you'd like to perform a "Begins with" or "Ends with", you can do this by using the following formats:
• string* (will match a string that begins with string and anything after)
• *string (will match anything that ends with string)
Keep in mind that URLs all have a http:// or https://
There are two ways you can test your campaigns in Rekko, and they're both super easy.
Testing by IP Address
First, you'll need to know your IP Address. You can find it easily by going to WhatIsMyIp.com. If you click the link, it'll pull up a page with your IP Address at the top.
Next, you'll need to create a new Profile in Rekko. Drag and drop the Demographic Filter into the table and select IP. Paste your IP Address into the field. See the screenshot below as a guide.
Once you enter your IP Address, click the Add Profile button in the bottom right corner. You will then need to name and Save your profile.
Testing by Specific Page URL
Alternatively, you can test your campaign by delivering it to a specific URL on your site. No, you don't have to create a new page for this, so don't worry!
Create a new Profile in Rekko. Drag and drop Site Activity into the table and select Current Page. In the field provided, type the following:
The wildcard (*) at the beginning of this string simply means you can use any page on your site. As long as what's after the wildcard (*) is appended to the URL, you'll be part of the test. The wildcard (*) will not be used in your address bar.
The question mark (?) allows you to append whatever you like to the end of a URL. We used "source=testpage" to make it simple.
See the screenshot below as a guide of how we entered the above string.
Once you've entered your source tag to the Current Page filter, click the Add Profile button in the bottom right corner. Then be sure to name and Save your profile.
To test your campaign, go to any page on your website and add "?source=testpage" to the end of the URL. See the screenshot below for an example.
Some accounts in Rekko come equipped with Control Groups. If you have one, you're likely an Enterprise or SaaS client, or have been with us for a very long time (good for you!). If you don't have a Control group, you probably don't need to keep reading.
Rekko randomly splits your visitors up into two groups: Control vs Treatment. Control Group gets 10% of your visitors while Treatment Group take the rest. As their names suggest, these two groups help you experiment with campaigns on your website. Control Group is generally the status quo of your website, or rather, the group that doesn't get to experience Rekko; while Treatment Group gets all of your amazing marketing ideas.
The Uplift tab in Reporting is where you see the results of your experiments where Control Groups are concerned. This is where you see the Delta; basically, it answers the following: "What would my numbers look like if Treatment Group were delivered to 100% of my visitors? if Control Group were delivered to 100% of my visitors?"
In the screenshot above, you'll notice there are two numbers in each box. The black numbers represent your Treatment Group while the orange numbers represent your Control Group. In this case, the Treatment Group is outperforming Control group in all areas except for Average Order Value.
Some additional notes regarding Control Groups:
1. If you create a campaign using only Treatments and set it to 100%, you're delivering to 100% of the Treatment Group. There is still a 10% Control Group. Of course, this does not apply if you have no options for Control Groups.
2. In order to see accurate reporting numbers for Control Group, make sure to deliver a blank Engagement to your Control Group visitors for each campaign. This can be done by creating a blank HTML Creative Engagement and have it deliver to a div ID called: rekkoblank
3. You don't have to have Control Groups! If you find that you prefer not to have to deal with a 10% Control Group, just let us know. We can turn this option off for you. Note that Performance Based accounts do not have Control Groups.
A Goal is library type. You can find all goals under goals sub-section in libraries tab of Dashboard. A goal is defined to check whether a particular campaign achieved it's goal or not. A goal can be created as follows.
Goal can be defined as follows by dragging goal type from the list.
Goal can be added to a campaign as follows and further choose only visitor who was delivered or clicked on the campaign.
To exclude from delivering a campaign you can add one sub-profile to the main profile and choose Matches All so that both sub-profiles matched, then only campaign will deliver.
